How many times have you been out and about and you spill on your new shirt? How many times have you worn your favorite suede shoes to work, only to look out the window at lunch and it has snowed three inches? These are 15 fashion hacks everyone should know that I have learned from my time in the fashion industry (and my crafty mother) in order to avoid a fashion disaster. IF YOU SPILL
Pour club soda on a cotton cloth and dab to help prevent the stain from setting
IF YOU HAVE DEODORANT MARKS
Take a nylon stocking, velvet hanger or a dryer sheet and rub quickly back and forth
IF YOUR CLOTHING IS PILLING
Use a razor to give it a shave and then use a lint brush to remove the excess
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LINT BRUSH
Wrap tape around your fingers with the sticky side OUT and go to town
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A STEAMER OR IRON
Hang your clothing in the bathroom and turn the shower on hot so the steam works out the wrinkles
IF YOU HAVE STATIC
Rub a dryer sheet on the inside of your garment
IF YOUR ZIPPER IS STUCK
Rub Vaseline on the track to help it slide along
IF YOU HAVE A RUN IN YOUR TIGHTS
Use hair spray or clear nail polish along the run to prevent it from spreading
IF THE END OF YOUR BELT IS TOO LONG
Use a piece of double sided tape to keep it secure and prevent flapping
IF YOU HAVE A STAIN ON WHITE CLOTHING (Ex: sweat stains)
Spray with lemon juice and set in a sunny spot to bleach the stain
IF YOU HAVE SALT STAINS ON SUEDE SHOES
Dampen a white cloth (or a magic eraser sponge) with white vinegar and rub the entire shoe. Let it dry completely and then brush
IF YOU HAVE A TEAR IN LACE
Use clear glue or clear iron-on tape to repair and prevent further tearing
IF YOU NEED TO CROP YOUR TOP
Fold your shirt under itself and tuck inside your bra
